Keyboard shortcuts on iPad
Shortcuts for a hardware keyboard on iPad and iPhone, and where they apply.
With a hardware keyboard, FOLD on iPad (and on iPhone) offers the shortcuts below.
Unlike the Mac app, FOLD on iPad uses no single-letter shortcuts; every mail action needs a modifier key, so typing in the search field or the composer never triggers an action. The shortcuts in the first table pause while the composer, a sheet or the command palette is open.

Move, archive, delete and the read state apply to the selected messages, or to the open message.
Note: ⌘R means Reply on iPad and Refresh on the Mac. On iPad, refresh is ⌃⌘R.
Reading

The arrow keys scroll the message.
Compose

Return alone never sends. In the To, Cc and Bcc fields, ↑ ↓ and Return choose a suggested address and Tab moves to the next field.

Sheets and the palette
In the move sheet, Return moves the messages and Esc cancels. In the command palette, ↑ ↓ move the highlight, Return runs the entry and Esc closes it.
